During his life, Elias was a merchant in Paris. He watched Marie-Antoinette's beheading. On his way home, as the sun was starting to rise, he was attacked by a vampire. He left the fight alive and not too badly injured, but when he woke up, he was forever changed. He tracked the vampire who turned him for years and years, until he killed him in 1801. He drank his blood, discovering by pure luck that vampire blood had drug-like effects.
🦴 Meeting Anatoly 🦴
In 1851, London hosted the first Universal Exposition. Elias needed to go, but he couldn't do so in broad daylight, so he snuck in during closing hours. He quickly noticed he wasn't alone and, to have taste vampire blood before, recognized the familiar scent. He followed the scent, hoping they'd be friendly. He was surprised to smell a bit of fear as he approached the vampire's hiding spot. He finally saw the blonde haired, scarred up man. He was almost curled up, but still in a defensive position. He wasn't a threat, that was sure. Elias asked him his name and if he was alright, but saw the confusion on his face and tried French. The man lit up and responded to him in a slightly broken, heavily accented French. They agreed to stick together, company was hard to find but very welcome. Elias noticed how all the years of isolation and traumas had affected Anatoly and worked on helping him stabilize himself.. They escaped all the wars together, fleeing wherever need be. Anatoly learned English with his help, but they learned many more languages during their travels. They became a couple in 1926, during the Roaring Twenties.

In 1999, Elias and Anatoly were in a rave in Berlin. Raves were the perfect place for vampires: it was dark, there were loads of people and everyone was too high to notice something was off with them. And so, the couple wasn't alone. From the side, they noticed a vampire going to the bathroom with a girl and leaving alone. They went to the bathroom to check if there was still a bit of blood to retrieve, but instead found the girl unconscious in a stall, starting to transform. They took her under their care, knowing too well how awful of an experience it is to be alone as a vampire. The three of them became a polyamorous couple in 2006, after a passionate rave.
